Internal Hemorrhoids
...occur inside the rectum and are usually caused by straining during (pregnancy, heavy lifting and/or bowel movements). The lining in the internal walls of the rectum become engorged with blood (varicose veins) and bulge. Internal roids can sometimes bleed, but rectal blood of any kind should be examined right away by a doctor.
Bleeding is indicative of hemorhoids. Corrective procedures include laser coagulation, infrared photocoagulation and hemorrhoidectomy. Two types of hemorrhoid surgery (injection sclerotherapy and rubber band ligation) are used for external hemorrhoids. Any remedy is best achieved with lots of fiber and water in a diet.
Hemorhoids can bleed and sometimes prolapse. Prolapsing hemorrhoids cause pain by a spasm of the sphincter complex. This spasm creates discomfort during the time that the prolapsed hemorhoids are exposed. This discomfort is relieved with hemorrhoidal reduction. Hemorhoids can also cause severe agony when they are incarcerated and/or strangulated. Additionally, strangulation with necrosis can cause even greater discomfort. As these catastrophic events occur the resulting sphincter spasm often produces concomitant external thrombosis.
Treatments
Immediate relief can be gained in mild cases with an over-the-counter cream commonly referred to as hydrocortisone. The 1% concentration is a better treatment alternative than .5%. Treatments also include drinking plenty of water, keeping the area clean, high fiber diet and anti-inflammatory herb remedies like Nature's Perfect Remedy.
