SLT is the National Service provider in the country of Sri Lanka. SLT Corporation was formed in 1991 - it was the country's first company, and the successor to the formerly government-owned Department. In 1996, SLT became incorporated as a public limited liability company. SLT currently provides a wide variety of services to a customer base of 800,000: domestic and international voice; Internet services; data services; domestic and international leased circuits; frame relay services; ISDN; ASDL; satellite up-link service; and maritime transmission. The country's only integrated operator offering fixed line, data and mobile services, SLT is currently led by Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala, Chairman and Mr. Shuhei Anan, Chief Executive Officer.
